Real?!

What does real mean to you???? The dictionary definition is pretty straightforward, but with a few variations; occurring or existing in actuality; having objective independent existence; not artificial, fraudulent , or illusionary: Genuine; behaving or presented in a way that feels true, honest, or familiar and without pretension or affection. But, I ask again, what does real mean to you, not in definition but in your world, in your existence, in your heart?? We all have different perceptions on real or reality, what this means to us, what this means about us, how do you live it, how do you present it, how can you be it?

Real is an independent perception, your real should not be influenced by outside opinions or perceptions, or controlled by others in matters of opinion. You should always think and act as yourself, an independent thinker. Drawing your own conclusions as to what we believe, think, feel, react, modeling our life accordingly. Real isn't always something you can touch or see with your eyes, it can be in words spoken or written, it can be a gut feeling you have about someone or something. You also have control over what you believe to be real, it is a practice in what you are going to accept as real to you, truths being spoken, honesty in those you are close to or those you are not. When it comes to accepting what is real to you, you need to follow your heart, your intuition speaking to you.

Follow this with, being real with self and in self, what you present to the outside world. In being real and what you present to the world about yourself, real goes along with truth, and truth is really the only way to be, because in the end the truth always remains standing. Real is honest, easy comfortable, less stressful, authentic, it is the happiest place to be. Surrounding yourself with real can be so fulfilling and meaningful, REAL can feed the soul. Understanding what real is to you can help you be real, live real, speak real, something that you choose to surround yourself with, the reality of your life and how you choose to live it. Honesty is always the best way to reality!!

Veggie Fried Rice

Ingredients:

2 tbsp avocado or olive oil

2 eggs, whisked together

½ yellow onion, chopped

2 medium carrots, finley chopped

2 cups veggies of choice (I used broccoli and bell peppers, both chopped)

½ tsp salt

1 tbsp minced fresh ginger

3 cloves garlic, minced

Pinch of red pepper flakes

2 cups cooked rice

1 cup spinach

3 green onions chopped

1 tbsp coconut aminos

1 tsp sesame oil

Directions:

Prepare all your ingredients ahead of time and have them all ready to add when it is time.

Heat a skillet to medium high, add ½ tbsp oil, then add the eggs. Cook until they are lightly set, when done transfer them to a bowl. Wipe pan out, place it on the heat and add the 1 ½ tbsp oil, add the onions and carrots and cook for about 5 minutes or until carrots are tender and the onions are translucent.

Add in the other veggies and the salt and cook for another 5 minutes, until the veggies are tender. While the veggies are cooking break up the eggs with a fork, when the veggies are done add them to the bowl with the eggs.

Place the pan back on the stove and add the remaining tablespoon of oil, add the ginger, garlic and red pepper flakes, stir often until fragrant about 30 seconds. Add the rice and stir well to combine and cook until the rice is heated through about 5 minutes.

Add the spinach and green onions and stir to mix in and spinach wilts a bit, add the veggie and egg combo stirring well to combine.

Remove the pan from the heat and add in the coconut aminos and sesame oil, stir until well incorporated. Taste to see if you need a little more salt, it should be good with the combination of the salt and coconut aminos included in this recipe.
