There are a lot of things in this world we know, and there are a lot of things in this world we still don't know. We know that eating right and getting plenty of exercise will help us stay healthy, we also know that plenty of good rest and check ups with our doctor also helps keeps us healthy. It is in the knowing what our bodies are doing and needing that contributes to our health and well being. Being open to things we don't know is what will help us grow and expand. Things change, we change, information changes and it is important for us educate ourselves because there are so many options out there for us to choose from. Don't ever close yourself off to knowing more.
Sometimes it is in the things that we are not aware that we know!! We read, we watch, we listen, we share, but that piece of us way down deep in our gut is where the true knowing is. Knowing who you are, knowing what you are about, knowing what works for you, knowing what doesn't work for you. Imagine who you would be if you could put all that knowing, outside and inside, together?! None the outside knowing matters until you can put it together with your whole person, what an amazing soul you would be. Most of the time we build our person based on what goes on outside, the people around us, the acceptance of others, and what we think is important in society. All the outside noise takes over and that becomes our reality.
We owe it to ourselves to step away from the noise, find that quiet place and listen. Most of the time we cannot hear because of all the noise, so this is why I say find that quiet place. A room, a chair, an outdoor space, a closet... wherever you can find the peace and quiet you need to listen. Once you have it is remarkable what you can hear, what you are listening to is the knowing, true and honest knowing. It is a beautiful place to be, pieces of yourself, like puzzle pieces you were missing, and can now place them in the correct spot to complete you.
I chose to write about these subjects this last month or so, because going into the New Year is a perfect time to give yourself more of your time. Make yourself the priority, grow, nurture, expand, be present!!! You can still be with others and live your life, just making sure that you stay aware and open to you, and who you are, what your life means to you, and how you want to live this life.
SunButter Granola Clusters Makes 15-18
1/3 cup agave syrup 1/3 cup sun butter (sunflower butter) or any nut butter of your choice. My favorite brand is, SunButter. 2 Tbsp coconut oil 1 tsp vanilla 1 cup of your favorite granola 1 cup old-fashioned oats, I used gluten-free. 2-3 Tbsp chopped nuts, any variety. 1/4 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips, I used an allergy-friendly chip.
Prepare a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Combine agave, sun butter, and coconut oil in a small saucepan. Over low heat stir constantly until the mixture is smooth and warm.Remove from heat and add vanilla, stir. Set aside.
In a medium-sized bowl combine all the rest of the ingredients except chocolate chips. Mix well. Pour cooled syrup mixture over oat mixture and stir until well combined. Stir in chocolate chips. It’s ok if they melt a little.
Spoon out mixture onto the prepared baking sheets, or use a cookie scoop for a more uniform shape. Refrigerate or freeze until set. Store in the refrigerator or freezer.
