Let's Talk About Colors

When consuming fruits and vegetables, we need to eat as many different colors as we can. I know it is easy to get in a rut or routine with our favorites, but.....we need them all.

Our bodies need to consume a nutrient dense diet, taking in all the colors, sizes and varieties. The nutrients in your food interact with each other and with your bodies unique chemistry. Your body will break it down into nutrients in the way it has evolved to do. This applies to Whole Foods, fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, you get my point. The other stuff (processed foods) your body needs to figure out what to do with, creating more work and effort and places to store unnecessary substances.

What I am trying to say is eat more Whole Foods, become a Whole Foodie eating great tasting, life-enhancing food. Foods that will love you back, nourishing your body, empowering your immune system and boosting your energy. Nourish your body and savor your soul.


Colorful Veggie Salad


Ingredients:

Colorful salad ingredients of choice:

Dark leafy greens

colorful add ins- bell peppers, cucumber, carrots, celery, rainbow Chard, apples, blueberries.

Any or all colorful fruits and vegetables

1/2 avocado


Dressing:

6 tbsp balsamic vinegar,

¼ cup olive oil,

2 tsp Dijon mustard,

2 tsp agave nectar,

2 clove pressed garlic

salt and fresh ground pepper to taste.
