Savor

Savor~ Taste good food and/or drink and enjoy it completely. To savor the moment~Notice what is gong right, and appreciate it, things that lead to greater happiness and reduced stress. There are so many things in life you can savor, moments in life you can savor, thoughts in your life you can savor. Savor isn't limited to food and drink, almost anything that makes you feel good, makes you happy can be savored. You want to appreciate it, make the feeling last, enjoy the moment or situation.

I love this word of course, because of its connotation with food and life, the very premiss of what I do and what I teach to others. Building a life in which you can enrich your soul, that place deep down inside that is just begging to be nourished, nurtured and made whole. A life to be savored every day, all good things around you and inside of you. So much of who and what we are has to do with what we put inside our bodies, from food, drink, medication, supplements, or what we don't put in our bodies, both are very important. Keeping a strong immune system with everything going on around us, means to surround ourselves with things we can savor, things gong right in our worlds, mentally and physically. Giving your body the opportunity to be as strong as it can be, and to carry your through each day, in health and happiness. Nourish with food, the right foods, natural Whole Foods that give your body what it needs to "THRIVE". When your body is working properly and it is fed with what it needs in order to thrive not much else is necessary, other than exercise and surrounding yourself with happiness, peace and content. A full heart, a full body.

Know what is going in, we physically or mentally don't need anything that we cannot understand, pronounce, read, make sense of or defend. So much STUFF out there we here or read about, anything you do needs to makes sense to you and your body, what works for some does not mean it will work for everybody or everyones body!! Savor your soul in every way, it might be a bit of an education to get there, but you will. With the right attitude and the desire to live your best life, you will be surrounded with things to be savored.

Pesto Halibut

Ingredients:

1 lb fish of choice (I used halibut)

3 cups basil

1/3 cup pine nuts (you can also use 1/2 cup almonds* if you aren't a pine nut fan)

2 large cloves garlic, chopped

1 bunch cilantro, chopped

1 jalapeno, seeded and chopped

Juice of 1 lemon

salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup olive oil

Directions:

Place basil, pine nuts, garlic, cilantro, jalapeno, lemon juice, salt and pepper in a food processor.

Process until well blended, then slowly add the olive through the top of the processor.

Place the fish in a glass dish and pour the pesto over the fish until completely covered.

Marinade for at least an hour, or up to four hours.

Line a piece of foil with parchment paper, place the marinated fish on the parchment paper, fold up sides, but don't completely wrap it up. You can add a bit more of the pesto for cooking if you choose. Or save it too poor some over the top when serving.

Heat grill to medium high, and place the fish in foil and parchment on the grill.

Cook until tender and flakey.

*If you are using whole almonds, place in the food processor first, and pulse until coarsely ground.
