Unknown

mindysavoryoursoul

What is it about the unknown that we fear so much??? Do we all feel the need to be in control all the time, is it the the not knowing or is it the loss of control we feel?? Both?!?! Why is it that we can't embrace the mystery that comes with the unknown, the element of surprise, the intrigue....

Most os us would say, no thank you, I want to know it now, all of it, what is going to happen, where should I go, what should I do, I think it IS about control. Along with the unknown comes the trust, which I touched on in the last blog, there needs to be a lot of trust when dealing with the unknown. Trust in self, that you will be able to handle whatever is on the other side. Trust in others that they will guide you in the right direction, that they will be truthful with you. Trust in life, that you are right where you are supposed to be. Trust in God that he has your back, always, and that whatever happens good or bad, you aren't being punished, there are lessons to be learned.

I find this to be true with a lot of my clients, embarking on something new leads to the unknown, this is an uncomfortable place to be, therefore it is easier to not move forward. This is why so many people talk about doing things, making changes, taking a new job, starting a family, eating for better health, marriage... So many decisions in life to make, it is easier to talk about them, but doing them without knowing the outcome makes us feel vulnerable, a place many are not comfortable being. The sad thing is that, making the choice not to move forward with the changes or choices, you will NEVER know! So many beautiful things can be on the other side of the unknown, missed opportunities, a world just waiting for you to enter.

There is so much out there for each and every one of us, sit in that place of vulnerability and let it happen. Take the hits if they happen, you will be stronger for them, rejoice in the beautiful things that come your way, making your life a better place to be. Being in control doesn't always get you where you want to go, sometime it can stifles your growth, or your attempt at improving your life. We don't always have the answers, there isn't always a reason for everything or one that you will understand, you just might need to close your eyes and jump, trusting that you will land right where you need to be. Don't fear the unknown, embrace it, find out what is on the other side, take that LEAP OF FAITH, believing in or accepting something outside the boundaries of reason (your reason).
